Hey, I'd like to pretense this by saying: This is pure speculation based on a few murmurs, so take it with a grain of salt, and feel free to add your two cents.
Last Friday, it was announced Sony had bought Tom Hardy (Bane from Dark Knight Rises, Mad Max from Mad Max Fury Road) to play "Agent Venom" in their Venom movie to kick start the "Sony Marvel Cinematic Universe" (otherwise codenamed, "SMCU" or "Spiderman Cinematic Universe.) While this may not seem shocking, it's important to keep in mind, Tom Hardy was signed to an eight movie exclusive deal with Warner Brothers, which Sony BOUGHT HIM OUT OF. Last year, it was reported Sony Pictures was getting out of the superhero film business after The Amazing Spider-Man 2 failed to live up to their standards, showcased by Sony renting the character Spider-Man out to Marvel Studios for Civil War through Homecoming 3. (Sony will be taking the character back.)
"What does this have to do with InFAMOUS?" I hear you asking to yourself.
Well back in 2010, Sony had commissioned an InFAMOUS film with Jason Statham, and Ben Foster reportedly being sought out for the role of Cole MacGrath. However, the film was apparently cancelled by 2012, it's initially guessed release date. With Sony getting back into the superhero genre in a big way, kickstarting their own Cinematic Universe with Venom, Black Cat, and Silver Sabel, it renews hope that they'd be willing to make an InFAMOUS film again, potentially with someone like Aaron Paul to play the titular role.
Me personally, guessing they're going to make an InFAMOUS film, I'd love to see a crossover, a team up between the two. Or a versus movie could be fun. <3 Lemme know what you think in the comments.
