Predicting The Final Boss

  • First off I want to say we will never know what SP will throw at us until the game or more trailers are released this thread is purley about imagination also I dont know about anyone else but doesnt seem like anyone of importance or worthy of being a final boss is pretty much dead. I just hope the final boss isnt some random conduit created by the D.U.P I want it to be someone who actually has an effect on the world and will hopefully be able to tie the sseries together  as much as I like infamous I think a fourth game would ruin the story.

    • Before i say anything regarding to the main point, i would like to state that "a new game would ruin the story" was just what i was hearing for months before Second Son was announced, and then what? Everyone got excited. Nobody is even saying Second Son is ruining the story. That's because people thought in such a simple way; a way where they don't know what to expect, and just jump into conclusion that it will ruin the game. After actually looking into the trailer, i said what i was saying months before Second Son was announced: "This is what this franchise needs", and that's a new beginning. New character, new story, new place, just anything to keep the universe of inFAMOUS moving, without going far enough as to bring Cole back, which i would have looked at as a cash-grab.

And as for main idea, it was easy to assume who will be the final boss of inFAMOUS 2, but during the time of the first inFAMOUS, people speculated everyone that they saw in trailers to be final bosses, even going as far as to think Moya was the final boss. I'm just gonna say that it's surely not going to be someone we expect. Not Abigail, not Reggie, and not that weird woman in the DUP.

    • I said I felt that a fourth game would ruin the "story" not second son the infamous series will always be fun but the story is shifting away from the inpending doom nature at least from what we've seen so far I understand what your saying that adding to or moving the series in a different direction might not be bad to me it seems like infamous might end up becoming like a X-men prequel look at IF2 evil ending only difference would be humans cant stop cole and like you said people would have looked at it as a cash grab not trying to take away anything from infamous no ones ever made a super hero game like infamous id just rather have the "Story" stop before it becomes something thats been done before.

This thread is about using what we've seen in the trailers past two games and imagination to come up with a possible boss not saying anyone will be spot on while respecting other peoples ideas

        Loading editor
    • While i must agree that the feeling of inpending doom does seem to be scarce in Second Son, not being in a destroyed city in a quarantine with a deadly disease, or knowing that a 3-4 story unstopable monster could get into your city any second; instead living in the well-organized city of Seattle. However, we still haven't seen anything from Second Son, who knows what will happen? As a matter of fact, who knows what will happen in a sequal, or maybe a new beginning? There might be a quarantine, there might be an even deadlier disease, and maybe a third threat?

Anywho, if we're gonna speculate the final boss knowing that Sucker Punch won't just throw it at us, then we need to think more of powers and position, and more importantly, if he's (or she's) a conduit (which i'm sure of).

When it comes to powers, i don't know why, i really don't, but i got a feeling of electricity. A very dull feeling, that is. I know it's not gonna be electricity, but for some reason, i keep it as a possibility.

        Loading editor
    • As we know that Sucker Punch wouldn't throw someone we would expect, I wouldn't think that 'Cole MacGrath' would be a boss, but it'd be interesting versing the character you've played for the past 2 games. This couldn't be true though because they have confirmed that Cole is dead. It could be Moya Jones but the wiki explained how she drowned on a military ship. They wouldn't use The Beast again and if they did, my head would explode. So, I don't really know who could be the final boss because all I've done here is backfire all of my ideas but of course if time-travel exists in the InFamous world, that means people could come back alive the same as the beast did. :)

    • What about a clone of Cole MacGrath the DUP created as a tool? Except for he's an enemy later on or an ally depending on choices. Of course he isn't 'Cole MacGrath' at all

I doubt the final boss is going to be Walker. Though I have my eyes on that hooded person. And btw, when questioned about Moya, SP was pretty elusive about her

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, when someone mentioned she looked like Moya on Twitter, they replied with a completely different subject and avoided the idea. They just talked about something about hair from what i remember.

    • I think the final boss is going to be that woman in the 'fetch' trailer. She could have powers, but i'm sure because they never showed her face.

    • Don't know who it'll be. But what about a DUP manufactured super conduit!. With all the combined powers of everyone they've captured. Making him an evil version of Delsin.

      Voice of Survival out...

        Loading editor
    • That's exactly what people don't want. I want someone with an important impact on the player; not just some anonymous DUP soldier.

        Loading editor
    • Yeah that would be a horrible idea there was another superhero game that tried that and it did'nt really work out plus that doesn't leave much to create a sequel off of I think they wiill do the same as in IF1 its an origin story the villian will be someone or something fresh yet have a connection the past series.

        Loading editor
    • How about someone that's not even a conduit. Someone who very much shakes the ideals of Delsin's take it easy demeanor and believes that conduits are a weapon. Only later on after you fight to get to him, and fight him on some sort of body enhancing mech suit or whatever. After his defeat, you then discover the location of Cole MacGrath's body in a hidden DUP base, and then depending on the choices you made, the ending goes accordingly...

Very strange Idea I had. Still, it would be cool for a 'norma' person to stand up against the conduits that they think are evil

        Loading editor
    • No mech suits... Please!!!

        Loading editor
    • Instead of an final boss, perhaps an entire mission where you destroy the base on by one???

Why not? That's similar to an idea I had back just after IF2 ended (before we even heard about IF:SS). I thought that one of the next factions could be a government supported military group (not another para-military mercenary group, an actual military cell) that had opted to mechanically enhance themselves "Dues Ex" style (either in response to the "conduit threat", or based on pre-existing government projects that could have tied back to the first game) . I imagined eventually it would have gotten into heavier enemies, not anything like huge 20 foot tall robots like the Sentinels from the X-men comics, but more like light to heavy armored suits.

Sorry tha was suppose to reffer to the games like  Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Spell Check messed it up for some reason.

    • I kinda wanted it to be Reggie given powers by either the InFamous 2 method of the Vermaak, or a new method, and then be forced to fight him. Too cliche? Maybe, but if they incorporate it correctly it could be an actual heart-wrenching fight

        Loading editor
    • In one of the gameplay demos for second son I realised that the DUP soldiers that delsin were fighting could super jump like the ice jump you obtained in infamous 2.Maybe the DUP captured some conduits, took their powers and transferred them into a normal DUP soldier especially the guys with the gattling guns because they move very quick than an ordinary guy would with a gattling gun.

        Loading editor
    • The only problem I have with that is the fact that the Vermaak went insane and couldn't be contolled. Scratch the first part, the other problem is that this threads about the final boss, not the DUP powers. I think there's a thread somewhere about it though

        Loading editor
    • Well i didn't say it had to be an anonymous soldier. I was thinking the head of DUP. Delsin's arch enemy an arrogant smarmy biggot you absolutely love to hate.

He or she gets so mad at you so frustrated at the situation. That they do something crazy. Turn into the thing that they hate most. Injecting all the powers they harvested all at once. Becoming an unstable barely contained...wait for it...BEAST!. Now how's that for a boss.

        Loading editor
    • Interesting actualy. It might work but then again, I don't want another Giant hit me again and again and dodge my attacks/Beast fight.

Anyway, thoughts about hybrid robot and conduit and human thing? Surely the DUP or something will add more to this guy in order to beat Delsin

        Loading editor
    • It reminds me of Arkham Asylum when the Joker injects all the Titan and turns into this weird, muscular glob. I think that would be better for (if they make it), Delsin's second game. The games have the same antagonist, one that you gradually know more about as the plot drags on. Then in his desperate last stand he does something like what you said, absorbing unstable powers, pressing some sort of self destruct switch, etc.

        Loading editor
    • Yah, that sounds more fitting for a long term antagonist. Someone you can relate to who does it for good ideals that makes you think hard of who you really want to side with

        Loading editor
    • It would be interesting if Delsin started to go insane with the amount of powers he absorbs. It sounds crazy, but maybe the final boss battle could be against himself, within his head. It would be unique & fitting.

        Loading editor
    • That's actually a pretty good idea. Maybe the DUP uses some sort of technology to mess with people's minds to brainwash them, and the final boss is a regular boosted mook, but uses that machine.

And basically you fight and beat yourself, then hit them once, then fight yourself again till 'you're' defeated and hit them again. Do that three times and it'll be pretty cool.

The best part, maybe if you're on good or evil karma, you can face the alternate karma version of yourself

        Loading editor
    • Delsin should have two personalities by the end of the game (moral choice is not an easy thing), so in the "good" boss fight you fight your evil self, and vice versa.
        Loading editor
    • It would be hard to pull that off. Because the idea would be that he would have to split for some reason, and if they did it just for kicks, that would make it seem way too convinient. I feel like I'll say this a lot, but this could happen in the second game

        Loading editor
    • You have to think outdside the box when it comes to superhero stories. I know Delsin isn't a superhero, but he falls into the category in a way. Just think about all the crazy stuff that happens in comics; I mean people die all the time then come back, that's how unique comic book stories are. Infamous has always been inspired by comics, as is obvious by some of the cutscenes, so far-fetched ideas like this one are actually more likely than him fighting some random boss.

        Loading editor
    • Well I understand that, but usually you get a few issues to get to know them. You see some panels from their point of view, rambling to themselves or some henchman. I just don't want a great villan to be taken away too quick before we get a good chance to see his perspective/ personality.

        Loading editor
    • Then I think a villain that is in your mind that's always been there in your mind would be a good villain. Either they end up as the mastermind that was plotting both the downfall of conduits and the DUP, or its just a manifestation of Ray Sphere Energy forming into another being from your powers, an exact karmically flipped version of you near the end. Or just some mastermind with brilliant powers, say vectors.

        Loading editor
    • You really want the vector powers don't you? All I'm saying is I want a build up to the final boss, and if they can do it in one game then I'm for it. But to have that much development in such a short period of time, it might be hard for them

And speaking of the cyborg soldiers.......what if some of them sided with the Conduits?

        Loading editor
    • I think Delsin should have a run-in with the final boss at least twice before the final battle. Just to build the hype. Maybe the first time could be like a small interaction (i.e.) Delsin hurts him or something and then a powered up version, then finally the beefed up angry one

        Loading editor
    • The final boss has to be introduced before the boss battle. Hopefully there will be some character growth, like he/she starts as good or neutral, but will be affected by the player's choice and will turn bad if you're good or good if you're bad.

The boss might be a Conduit you saved that thinks Delsin is not trying hard enough to defeat the DUP and decides to destroy the DUP by himself with an hazardous gambit and you have to stop him.

        Loading editor
    • I almost want a betrayal by a companion. Like Reggie thinking that we've gone too far over the edge, and allowing himself to go with the DUP for an experimental, Conduit fighting serum/ robot suit.

        Loading editor
    • Reggier would be too predictable, in my opinion at least. But if done right can be effective. Still, I rather have someone else. So conduit virus + power exchange + robot mecha suit... What else do we need...

      oh! Vampire powers

        Loading editor
    • How about Reggie Rowe.................as a midboss opposed to a final boss.

        Loading editor
    • Yeah that sounds better than him being a final boss actually

        Loading editor
    • Oh, and as for the DUP Cole Macgrath Clone boss? They should make that one the penultimate boss.............

        Loading editor
    • Houl about the Final boss being a DUP Leader on a supersoldier-type serum made to fight Conduits?

        Loading editor
    • Or mid-way through the game a Ray Sphere goes off and you have to decide between helping the innocent or going in the radius to get more powerful.
