"Terror Bus" is a series of side missions in Infamous. They can be played either with good karma or evil karma. These missions become available after completion of the mission "Terrorized Streets."

Synopsis[]

In each of these missions, a civilian informs Cole of the Dust Men driving a large bus (which appears to be based off a GMC RTS-04 bus) rigged with assault weapons and armor plating, using it to cause mass panic and murder by continually firing at innocent pedestrians in sight. Cole must sabotage it before many civilians end up seriously injured or dead. The only way he can destroy the bus is by getting on top of it and overloading its generator with his Lightning Bolts.

Walkthrough[]

These armored buses cannot be destroyed with Cole's Lightning Bolts. At the rear of each bus is a generator, which can be overloaded to destroy them. When one is destroyed, there will be no huge explosion, and Cole will not be harmed, even if he is atop the bus.

Most of the time, the top of the buses have no guns or guards, making them safe to jump onto and fight off enemies from there. Trying to board the buses from the sides is exceedingly dangerous. A better tactic is to glide from a nearby building using Static Thrusters. The buses can also be disabled (not destroyed) by thunder dropping on it from great heights. If Cole is on top of a bus, he is safe from its turrets. The roof is chargeable by shooting at it and can then be drained. At the rear is a red LED generator that can be charged using Lightning Bolts.

Use the minimap to keep track of the path the buses take to better strategize the best place to jump from. If Cole has the Lightning Storm ability, he can use it to overload the feeder box. It is recommended that Cole stands in front of the bus with Polarity Wall active.

It is also recommended that Cole eliminates all Dust Men gathered around these buses. While the buses' turrets cause weak damage, the combined firepower between the bus and Dust Men is usually enough to defeat Cole. The only way you will ever know if the bus is out of commission is if a cutscene is triggered, showcasing the destruction of the bus.

Rewards[]

Completing these side missions rewards Cole with 100 Experience points, and slightly reduces enemy activity in Empire City.

Behind the scenes[]

The sound design team at Sucker Punch created 27 different variations on the sound you might hear when the generator explodes in the game.
